Umfolozi Sugar Mill (Pty) Ltd (USM) is situated in the heart of Zululand in the town of Mtubatuba, 30kms from St Lucia, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park world heritage site. The nearby Cape Vidal beach resort is a popular KwaZulu-Natal north coast family holiday and big game fishing destination. The world-famous Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park lies 30 km west of USM and is home to the big five.
USM plays a significant role in the local community as it crushes sugarcane from approximately 60 commercial farmers and more than 1500 small-scale farmers and employs over 300 permanent staff.
